Hell yes!! Plenty on Oahu there are bad spots. The whole Waianae side of Oahu is not a good place for a haole to roam, lots of rent a cars are broken into at electric beach etc. Lots of places with like 16 people in one dwelling and lazy loafers. There is a big drug problem there too, ice, weed, etc, plus diabetes because of crap diets. Crap fried and fast food is cheap so they eat it and the islander physiology is really not a good mix, gout/diabetes is pretty bad there, worst in the country I think. It didn’t help that Spam and C rations from WWII worked their way into the local food traditions. Homeless have better temperatures so they can exist more easily, Oahu has a lot of people compared to the other islands, it has bad areas and tons of crime in those areas.

Most Kamaaina that leave HI end up in S Cal or Vegas unfortunately. I am in a union in SF and there are islanders in the Teamsters etc. The guys at the docks who work for Matson etc. are pretty gangster in HI. The guys in HI want to be like So Cal tough guys and get pit bulls and stuff, most have never left HI!
